GolfDay Buddy (“the App”, “we”, “us”) helps golfers discover tournaments and events. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.
By using GolfDay Buddy, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information the App Collects

The App currently does not require you to create an account or submit personal details such as your name, email, or phone number.

If in future you contact us by email or another channel, we will receive the information you choose to send (e.g. your name, email address, and message content).
1.2 Information from your device

Device information: basic technical data such as device model, OS version, and app version may be processed by Apple’s systems for analytics and crash reporting, according to Apple’s own privacy terms.

Location: the App may use your approximate location to show nearby tournaments and events. Location is obtained from your device with your permission and is used only within the App to display relevant content. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
1.3 Tournament and event data

Tournament and event listings (including logos, dates, club details, and contact information) are loaded from our server or from third‑party providers. This information typically relates to clubs, unions, or organisers rather than to you personally.
2. How Information Is Used
We use information only to:

Display tournaments, events, maps, and related details.

Sort and search events and tournaments (e.g. by date, city, province, club/union).

Improve the reliability and performance of the App (for example, by understanding crashes or errors).
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles.
3. Data Storage and Retention

Tournament and event data is stored on our servers so it can be delivered to the App.

The App may temporarily cache images (such as club logos and event images) on your device to improve loading speed; your device and operating system may clear this cache automatically.

If you contact us directly (e.g. by email), we may keep your message for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request and maintain records.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information in the following situations:

Service providers: with trusted hosting, analytics, or error‑monitoring providers who help us operate and improve the App. They are allowed to process data only on our behalf and must protect it appropriately.

Tournament and event information that is already public (such as club names, event dates, contact emails and phone numbers provided by organisers) may be displayed or shared within the App and on our website.
5. Your Choices and Controls

Location access: you can enable or disable location permissions for GolfDay Buddy at any time in your device’s Settings. The App will still function without location, but results may be less relevant.

Notifications (if enabled in future): you will be able to opt in or out of push notifications in system settings.

Uninstalling the app: you can remove the App from your device at any time, which stops all future data collection by the App on that device.
6. Children’s Privacy
GolfDay Buddy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information transmitted to and from the App from unauthorised access, alteration, or loss. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Third‑Party Links and Content
Some tournament and event listings may include links to external websites (for example, registration pages, union or club sites, or sponsor pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third‑party sites. Review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
